The NutriVets

Service description

The in-home consultation provides a comprehensive, evidence-based nutritional assessment in your pet’s natural environment. It is particularly suitable when daily routine, surroundings, or mealtime behaviour affect feeding. 1) Medical History and On-Site Assessment • Medical History: Evaluation of your pet’s medical history, recent laboratory results, diagnostic reports, and veterinary assessments. • Current Diet and Feeding Behaviour: Detailed review of the type of food, daily quantities, treats, and supplements, together with an assessment of the feeding area and your pet’s behaviour during meals. • Body and Muscle Condition (BCS–MCS): On-site assessment of your pet’s weight, body condition, and muscle condition. • Discussion and Goal Setting: Review of current clinical signs or nutritional challenges, such as reduced appetite, gastrointestinal problems, allergies, or excessive food intake, as well as identification of environmental factors including stress, routine, bowl placement, and competition from other animals. • Nutritional Guidance: Answers to all your questions regarding commercial pet foods, home-prepared diets, and available purchasing options. 2) Assessment of Nutritional Requirements and Plan Development • Accurate calculation of your pet’s energy requirements based on international veterinary nutrition guidelines. • Recommendations for appropriate dietary options, including commercial therapeutic diets, home-prepared or cooked diets, and mixed feeding plans. • Practical changes that can be implemented immediately at home, including adjustments to routine, portion sizes, meal frequency, and feeding management in multi-pet households, tailored to the owner’s financial and practical circumstances. 3) Delivery of a Comprehensive Nutritional Report • The completed Clinical Nutrition Report is sent by email in PDF format within 2–3 working days. • The report includes specific food recommendations, exact daily quantities, meal frequency, alternative options, and clear instructions for a safe and gradual dietary transition. 4) Support and Monitoring • Follow-up clarification questions may be submitted by email during the first two weeks after the plan begins. • Recommendation and scheduling of a follow-up consultation for the systematic monitoring of your pet’s clinical progress. Ideal for: • Owners who would like the nutrition plan to reflect their pet’s actual daily routine and who require practical, on-site guidance. • Pets that experience significant stress during travel or veterinary clinic visits, particularly cats. • Senior pets, animals with mobility difficulties, and multi-pet households where food competition needs to be managed. *Please note that in-home consultations are subject to availability and depend on your area of residence.
