Welcome to our website. We are Asterios Doukas and Apostolos Samaras. We are a team of military veterinarians with academic training in both veterinary science and clinical dietetics and nutrition.

We believe that nutrition is not merely a daily necessity for every animal, but a fundamental right. With proper guidance, optimal nutrition can have both preventive and therapeutic effects on an animal’s health.

Our goal is to become your trusted nutritional partner, offering evidence-based feeding programs tailored to the individual needs of each animal—whether in clinical conditions or during periods of growth, reproduction, pregnancy, lactation, and aging.

Our long-standing professional experience with military working dogs has clearly demonstrated the benefits of proper nutrition, both during training and in the performance of demanding exercises and missions. The role of nutrition in training and in maximizing the athletic performance of dogs—such as hunting, guarding, herding, search and rescue, detection, and assistance dogs—requires specialized, evidence-based veterinary nutritional guidance.

For us, every nutritional plan is a collaboration—with the attending veterinarian and, above all, with you, who care for your pet every day.

It was only a few months ago, during a discussion between us, that we began exploring how we could transform and share our knowledge and passion for veterinary science and nutrition through a common initiative. Everything quickly fell into place when Apostolos spontaneously came up with the name… NutriVets!
